Union Minister Dr. Thet Khaing Win Offers Sixth Buddhist Synod Tri Pitakat Treatises

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister Dr. Thet Khaing Win accompanied by Myanmar Ambassador to Laos U Aung Ko, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Khin Maung Soe attended the ceremony of offering Tri Pitakat treatises approved by Sixth Buddhist Synod donated by State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at Thatluang Sangha Nayaka Tipitaka Monastery in Vientiane of Laos, on 11 August.

During the ceremony, Union Minister supplicated donations’ purpose that the donations were made for monasteries and Sasana universities in Laos as Myanmar and Laos are Buddhist countries and have the common culture and history. Moreover, such donations are aimed for the flourishing of Theravada Buddhism and strengthening of bilateral cooperations and friendly relations between the two countries. After that, the Union Minister donated the Tri Pitakat treatises and robes to the monks, and they also paid homage to Buddha statues and viewed round religious edifices in Thatluang Sangha Nayaka Tipitaka Monastery in Vientiane of Laos.

Vice-Chairperson Mr. Dr. Chanpheng Sudthivong for Lao Front for National Development (LFND), Deputy Minister for Information, Culture and Tourism Mr. Phosy Keomanivong and other invitees also attended the ceremony.
