Authorities are carrying out rescue and relief measures at the areas affected by the flooding in regions and states due to heavy rainfall occurred. In this regard:
- On 1 August, Southwest Command Commander and officials assisted the evacuation of the affected victims at the flooded areas in Ayeyarwady region and provided foodstuffs and supply items for advance moved households.
- On 1 August, Yangon region chief minister and party provided rice, cooking oil, instant noodle, drinking water, eggs, health items and cash assistance for 9,392 people of 2,478 households at the flooded areas in 29 villages of Taikkyi township.
- On 4 August, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win and Ayeyarwady region chief minister provided 74,181,600 kyats to purchase food ration (rice) for 2,738 flood victims from 76 relief camps opened in Thabaung township, provided 4,416 eggs, rice, instant noodle, sardine box and drinking water for 254 flood victims from the urban relief camps and provided 15,220,000 kyats worth of 1,000 smart logo female/ male shirts by the arrangement of Head of State for IDPs who arrived in Ayeyarwady region.
Region and state government officials in cooperation with local military personnel, members of the Myanmar Police Force, charity associations, the local residents made evacuation of victims to safe places, carried out relief and rescue tasks, preparatory work is being carried out in a timely manner in order to reduce the damage to people's lives due to the occurrence of natural disasters, reports say.
