Officials Provide Foodstuffs to Temporarily Displaced Persons in Regions and States

Ethnic armed insurgent organizations and PDF terrorists conducted acts of terrorism such as collecting money by extortion from the local resident and conducting forced demand of food delivery as well as forced recruitment in the villages and townships in 2024. Consequently, the locals have fled their homes and moved to safe places with the help of security forces.

  • On 31 July, chief minister and party made the collection of household censuses, recording information. Local units also delivered rice packs for 730 people of 230 households, who temporarily sheltered at the IDPs camps in Loikaw Township, and provided them with rice, cooking oil, instant noodle and cash assistance.
  • On 1 August, Shan State government and party provided 61 rice bags, 61 viss cooking oil for 500 people at the monastery in Lawksawk township, provided 29 rice bags, 30 viss cooking oil and foodstuffs for 350 temporarily displaced persons at the Yan Aung Monastery and Taung Phi Lar Monastery, provided 38 rice bags, 37 viss cooking oil and foodstuffs for temporarily displaced persons at the Mandalay Monastery, provided 182 rice bags, 182 viss cooking oil and foodstuffs for 1,491 temporarily displaced persons from Northern Shan state.
  • On 2 August, MNDAA and TNLA terrorist insurgent group launched electrically-initiated rockets against and shelled Lashio, Shan State (north), injuring military personnel, monks and local residents. They were receiving medical treatment in Sao San Htun Hospital in Taunggyi. Shan State Chief Minister, Eastern Command Deputy Commander and officials comforted and provided them with clothes and cash assistance.

Moreover, officials encouraged healthcare services provided by staffs from Township Public Health Department to temporarily displaced persons and they made necessary arrangements for comfortable living of displaced persons, reports say.
