Kayah State Chief Minister Comforts People who got injured in Terrorist Attacks

Tatmadaw, Myanmar Police Force, relevant officials in collaboration with people fight against terrorists in Kayah State, and now locals are making resettlements in Loikaw Township as it gains peace and tranquility, and the rehabilitation processes are ongoing.

Meanwhile, KNDF, KNPP, and PDF terrorists, who do not want to see the conducting of trade by local people in peaceful manner, rehabilitation tasks and stability and support operations, intentionally launched heavy weapon attacks on the wards in Loikaw Township in the evening of 29 July with an intent to harm socioeconomic lives of people, peace and stability in Loikaw and cause public panic. As a result, the weapon shells on the religious edifices and pagodas of Maha Maggin Monastery and residential houses in Nant Baw Wam Ward (a), injuring five innocent civilians. Hence, the officials transported those injured people to Military Hospital in Loikaw for receiving medical treatments.

In this regard, Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin, Commander of Regional Operations Command and state government members proceeded to No.7 Military Hospital (100-bedded) on 30 July, and asked after military personnel, Myanmar Police Force members, people militia members and families in individual who sustained injuries in serving duties of security, peace and stability, and sweep operations, and comforted them. They provided cash assistance, medicines and nutritious foods to the patients and coordinated the requirements.

Aiming to jeopardize peace and stability of Loikaw, the insurgents of terrorists frequently attacked such non-military targets as townships and wards using rockets and heavy weapons. Their inhumane attacks on public hospital on 4 June, Loikaw Technological University, and the Lawdhama Ward and Nant Baw Wam Ward (a) on 4 July resulted in the damages of residential houses and losses of the lives of 13 civilians. Therefore, the local public strongly condemn such terrorists, it is reported.
