Reception to Celebrate 97th Anniversary of Founding Chinese People’s Liberation Army Held in Yangon

State Administration Council member, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy, and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and his wife attended the ceremony marking the 97th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Liberation Army of China held at Novotel Max Hotel in Yangon on 29 July.

• The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the People’s Republic of China. Chinese Military Attaché Senior Colonel Zheng Zijie delivered a greeting speech.
• SAC member, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy, and Air)                   General Maung Maung Aye and wife, the Chargé d’affaires ai of the Chinese Embassy, and the Chinese Military Attaché cut the celebratory cake together.
• The Chargé d’affaires ai of the Chinese Embassy and the Chinese Military Attaché then hosted dinner in honour of the attendees and guests.

Also present were senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, the Yangon Command commander, members of the Yangon Region government, ambassadors as well as chargés d’affaires ai from various embassies in Yangon, military attachés, and other invitees, it is reported.
