BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs and Wives Visit Uppatasanti Pagoda and Maravijaya Buddha Image

Admiral Moe Aung, National Security Adviser and Union Minister for the Ministry 1 of the State Administration Council Chairman’s Office and his wife, together with BIMSTEC national security chiefs and their wives, delegation members and the BIMSTEC Secretary-General, visited Maravijaya Buddha Image and Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw on 26 July.

Union Minster and party paid homage to Maravijaya Buddha Image, the world’s tallest sitting marble Buddha Image, situated in the Buddha Park in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory. They then had a commemorative photo taken together. Next, they also observed the architectural designs of 24 Gandakuti chambers and 720 stone inscription stupas, depicting treatises in Pali and Romanized Languages where the officials conducted round them.

Then, BIMSTEC national security chiefs and their wives visited Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw, observed the life story of Buddha portraying in Myanmar arts and crafts inside the temple and donated cash for the buddha images, The pagoda’s trustees presented small Buddha statues to them as Dhamma gift. Later, they also observed the Myanmar Gems Museum (Nay Pyi Taw) and the National Museum.
