On the occasion of the full moon day of Waso, also known as Dhammacakka Day, which falls on 20 July 2024, the famous pagodas, temples and stupas across the country were crowded with pilgrims who keep Sabbath, recite Pathan and Paritta Sutta, offer Waso robes to the monks at the monasteries, and make good deeds, dedicating to Lord Buddha. In this regards,
- Maravijaya Buddha image is the World's Highest Sitting Marble Buddha image, Uppatasanti Pagoda, Lat Lote Taung Zedi, Buddhagaya Thatta Thattaha Maha Bawdi Pagoda and the famous pagodas, temples and stupas in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory were crowded with the pilgrims who made good deeds peacefully.
- Shwedagon Pagoda, Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Pagoda, Kyaik Ka San pagoda, Nga Htat Gyi pagoda, Chauk Htat Gyi pagoda and the famous pagodas, temples and stupas in Yangon were crowded with the pilgrims who who keep Sabbath and people who served food for all comers.
- Mahamuni Buddha Image, Maha Lawka Yanhnein Aungdawmu Pagoda, Candamuni Pagoda, Kuthodaw Pagoda, Kyauktawgyi Pagoda, Mandalay Hill including the famous pagodas, temples and stupas in Mandalay and the neighborhoods were pilgrims who made good deeds peacefully.
- The recreation resorts and public parks were thronged with the people in regions and states on the full moon day of Waso holiday.
The township police force members, reserve fire brigade members and traffic police took necessary measures for security and vehicle safety at the crowded places of respective townships aiming to enable the pilgrims to peacefully pay homage to the pagodas and the visitors to take relax, reports say.
