Since the beginning of July 2024, PDF terrorists with massive force have: attacked security outposts, police stations and other security check points; killed local residents; collected money by extortion from locals, launched arson attacks against departmental structures; planted mines, looted properties from locals’ houses and destroyed residential houses.
Such terrorist acts made locals and departmental staff displaced from homes. Thus, local residents began to form defence forces for towns and villages in addition to the Tatmadaw’s preparatory works for forming community defence forces and trainings. The Tatmadaw columns started its fighting against the terrorists in Singu through land route and waterway on 19 July. Since it also launched attack against terrorists by the support of air and heavy weapons, it gained control of Singu on 20 July.
PDF terrorists opened fire on security forces by positioning themselves in religious buildings, schools, departmental structures and houses.
