Narcotics Seized in Keng Tung, Tachilek and PyinOoLwin Townships

The combined team comprising Anti-Narcotics Task Force members across the country are putting an emphasis on seizure of narcotic drugs and drug-trafficking. In this regard:

• On 8 July, acting on a tip-off, a combined team conducted a search on 12 wheel trucks of NISSAN, driven by Sai Lin Oo on Mong Pyin-Keng Tung Road in Keng Tung Township and seized K4.8 Billion worth of 603 kilos of ICE (Methamphetamine). The offenders plotted to carry out drug-trafficking to Tachilek from Mong Pyin.
• On 9 July, acting on a tip-off, a combined team conducted a search on two vehicles of TOYOTA CROWN, in Wein Kyauk ward of Tachileik arrested Sai Wunna, Nyi Lin (aka) Aik Tun and Aung Win with K1.575 Billion worth of 300 blocks of heroin weighing 105 kilos. The offenders plotted to carry out drug-trafficking to Tachilek, Shan State (East) from Namhsan, Shan State (South).
• On 14 July, acting on a tip-off, a combined team conducted a search on a 22-wheeler truck from Nawnghkio to Mandalay driven by Min Zaw and Min Ko onboard near Watwun Village, Pyin Oo Lwin Township and seized 3.95 million of stimulant tablets on the vehicle. According to the confession of the offenders, they seized 7.25 million stimulant tablets from 18-wheel vehicle driven by Maung Nge (aka) Kyaw Gyi. Thus, the combined team confiscated K16.8 billion worth of 11.2 million stimulant tablets in total. The offenders plotted to carry out drug-trafficking to Mandalay from Shan State (North).

Legal action has been taken against them under the law, and officials are conducting ongoing investigations to identify the chain offenders of drug-related crimes, it is reported.
