Union Ministers Receive Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration to Myanmar

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Union Minister for Labour U Myint Naung met Mr. Dragan Aleksoski, Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to Myanmar, who is leaving upon the completion of his tour of duties, at the respective ministries in Nay Pyi Taw on 16 July. In this regard:

  • During the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister U Than Swe, both sides exchanged views on the progress of IOM’s current activities in Myanmar and the cooperation between the two sides.
  • During the meeting with Union Minister U Myint Naung, they discussed matters of Myanmar migrant workers who are working in various countries to move and work safely, providing social protection and care, signing an MoU for cooperation in labour issues with IOM and collaboration between the Ministry of Labour and IOM for International labour migration management.

Also present were high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, deputy minister U Win Shane from the Ministry of Labour, and officials, the Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration to Myanmar who is accompanied by delegates.
