Authorities Arrest Perpetrators with Arms/Ammunition in Namhsan

According to the report made by the locals that the il­legal arms and ammunition are transported to Kayah and Kayin states from Namhsan Township of Shan State (South), the secu­rity forces searched black “Vigo” vehicle with vehicle license plate 2K-7178, whch was leaving Matkyan village, at Nary­ine village junction of Matkyan village in Namsang on 12 July. During the search, a platoon commander from RCSS/ SSA and four privates were arrested together with KIA-made five KA guns, five 40MM revolvers, five 40 MM shotguns, 43,765 rounds of 7.62 mm-caliber, 450 40MM rounds, 15 KA magazines and 15 strings.

  • According to their confes­sion, they received these arms and ammunition from PNLA member Tha Hto at Naryine village junction on 12 July, and they were arrested on the way to transport these arms and am­munition to KNPP and KNDF in Kayah state and KNLA in the intersection area of Kayah and Kayin states.
  • KIA armed insurgent have supported and supplied weapons to PDF terrorists declared as a terrorist group and other armed insurgents. Their actions help kill innocent people including civil servants and blast public roads, bridges and buildings.

Action will be taken against the arrested perpetrators, and the people are urged to combat terrorists in a collaboration manner and report to the officials secretly about the hide-outs and movements of the terrorist groups so that the informer and those who help arrest the terrorists will secretly be honoured with cash rewards, it is reported.
