Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than Joins 14th Industrial Expo in Yekaterinburg of Russian Federation

Myanmar delegation led by Union Industry Minister Dr. Charlie Than arrived in Moscow, Russia, to attend the 14th Industrial Expo (Innoprom) to be held in Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation. Currently in Moscow, the Myanmar delegation made the following activities:

• On 7 July, the Myanmar delegation met with the officials of the National University of Science and Technology (MISiS) at the lounge of the Moscow Airport to discuss the handover of steel production technologies and development works.
• On 8 July, the Union Minister and party attended the first day of Innoprom-2024 and observed the displays of machinery for iron and steel exploration and production, its products, detectors for respiratory infectious disease as well as medicines and medical equipment exhibited by the Pharmaceutical Companies from the United Arab Emirates.
• In the morning of 9 July, the Union Minister attended the conference named main pillar of the global economy, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Conference, and frankly discussed matters on potential economic cooperation between Myanmar and members of Shanghai Cooperation Organizations, and preparations of Myanmar for those who make investments and businesses people.
• In the evening, they then met with a delegation led by Mr. Anton Alikhanov, Russian Minister for Industry and Trade and discussed bilateral cooperation in industrial sectors between two countries, medicines and medical supplies production and finalizing No. 2 Steel Mill (Pangpet).
• On 10 July, the Union Minister met with the deputy provincial Governor of Savelyov State to discuss cooperation in the high education sector, medicine production field, capacity-building trainings, industrial and production fields, culture and garment industry.

The Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister arrived back in Yangon in the evening of 12 July, and they were welcomed by the factory managers, staff officers and officials of the Directorate of Industrial Supervision and Inspection under the Ministry of Industry in Yangon, deputy trade representative of the Russian Federation to Myanmar.
