K2.17 Billion worth of 86.9 Kilos of Heroin Seized in Pyigyidagun Township

The combined team comprising Anti-Narcotics Task Force members are putting an emphasis on seizure of narcotic drugs and drug-trafficking across the country. As a result:

• On 5 July, acting on a tip-off, a combined team conducted a search on a Toyota Probox and a Super Custom on the 71st (C) street, between 114th and 115th Street, Pyigyidagun Township, Mandalay Region and arrested Soe Khaing, Nang Aye Phoung, Nang Yein Aong and Tun Lin Aung together with 22 kilos of heroin.
• According to the confession of the offenders under interrogation, authorities have also seized 64.9 kilos of heroin from a house where Tun Lin Aung lives as a tenant in Chanmyathazi Township, totaling K2.17 billion worth of 86.9 kilos of heroin. The offenders plotted to carry out drug-trafficking to Mandalay Region from Shan State.

Legal action has been taken against them under the law, and officials are conducting ongoing investigations to identify the chain offenders of drug-related crimes, it is reported.
