A ceremony to mark the Myanmar Women’s Day 2024 was celebrated at the Myanmar International Convention Centre-II (MICC-II) in Nay Pyi Taw on 4 July, with the attendance of Honorary Patron of the Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation (MWAF) Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, who is the wife of the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister.
First, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered an opening speech for the event through a video message. Next, the prize-awarding ceremony to the outstanding women in respective sector for 2023 followed. During the ceremony, the MWAF’s Honorary Patron Daw Kyu Kyu Hla presented honorary medals, certificates and cash awards to the best cadet award winner Second Lieutenant Daw Yu Yu Naing from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), the outstanding training officer award winner Lieutenant Daw Phoo Maw Thann from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and Captain Daw Wah Wah Maw who achieved honorary certificate of the Commander-in-Chief (Air).
Next, the officials presented honorary medals, certificates and cash awards to the winner of outstanding female police officer Police Lt. Col Moe Moe Tun, the outstanding athletes with disabilities Ma Law Lar Win, students who passed the 2023-2024 Matriculation Exam with highest marks in science and science-arts subjects, the prize winners of the basic education high level essay competitions marking the Myanmar Women’s Day 2024 and women’s entrepreneurship award winners.
The ceremony also staged the commemorative song “Women Committee” performed by the vocalists from Myanma Radio and Television and ethnic dance performance including the song “Myanmar in peace” by artists from the Department of Fine Arts under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, it is reported.
