Myanmar hosted the 36th Myanmar-Thai Border Committee meeting at the Palae Thander Hotel in Myeik on 28 June with the attendance of Lt-Gen Nyunt Win Swe from the office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Maj-Gen Naing Naing Oo, senior military officers, departmental officials and Lt- Gen Prasan Saengsirirak of Thailand as well as his delegates.
The Head of Myanmar delegation Lt-Gen Nyunt Win Swe and Thai delegation head Lt-Gen Prasan Saengsirirak made opening remark each. The meeting discussed the cooperation in border areas, anti-drug measures, and boundary issues, border issues and others.
In the evening, the Head of Myanmar delegation Lt-Gen Nyunt Win Swe hosted a dinner for the Thai delegation and representatives from the two countries to the meeting at the Palae Thander Hotel and exchanged gifts.
At the second-day meeting, the two head of delegations approved and signed the agreements drafted at the meeting and exchanged it mutually. The two leaders then had a documentary photo taken together with other committee members.
During their stay in Myanmar, the Thai delegation visited the Maravijaya Buddha Image in Nay Pyi Taw and famous pagodas and sites in Myeik, it is reported.
