Under the guidance of the National Disaster Management Committee, the Transport and Communications Work Committee plans and supervises to consign rehabilitation materials to Rakhine State by road, ship, and air. In this regard, 39,898 bags of rice provided by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and 2,083.44 tonnes of construction materials, charcoal briquettes and relief supplies requested by the Rakhine State government, were transported with vessels from Yangon to Sittwe on 17 June.
Starting from 16 May 2023 to 17 June 2024, 47 vessels including Tatmadaw naval vessels transported construction materials, electrical equipment, medicine, health devices, consumer goods, and food, 69,825.36 tonnes of relief goods altogether. Additionally, 249,762 gallons of diesel, including 199,886 gallons of Octane 92 were delivered, it is reported.
