Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Delivers a Speech at Meeting with Military Personnel and Family Members of Meiktila Station under Central Command

Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met the officers, other ranks and their families of Meiktila Station under Central Command at Thura Ohn Khaing Hall of local airbase headquarters (HQs) on 16 June. The following are the speech made by the Senior General:

  • As Meiktila Station has an adequate number of corps and fine traditions, officers and other ranks should proudly discharge their duties, and keep the traditions.
  • No matter what Tatmadaw members are serving at infantry or light infantry regiments in frontlines or at other military corps, they must have capabilities of serving State defence and security duties successfully.
  • Since they joined the Tatmadaw, training schools have instilled essential military techniques according to their ranks. So, they must effectively apply their military knowledge.
  • Applying the military techniques and maneuvers, all Tatmadaw members have to wipe out those undermining sovereignty of the State, and protect life and property of the people.
  • Individuals must have security knowledge and awareness whereas all the regiments, units and HQs of the corps must have readiness to fight enemies.
  • Only when the unity inside the military must be strengthened, will the unity outside the military be forged. So that they are indivisible with the people.
  • There are many opportunities for education in the Meiktila region. Therefore, officers and other ranks’ families should encourage their children’s education.
  • Tatmadaw is encouraging Tatmadaw members and families to have results of the education promotion plan.
  • Regarding health, it is necessary to live and eat in a way that keeps oneself healthy and strong. It has been observed that the life expectancy in our country is comparatively lower than in other regional countries.
  • All Tatmadaw members and families must have to avoid the activities of declining their individual capability and harming their families and the organization due to drinking and indulgence.
  • Regarding welfare, it is necessary to successfully carry out military-owned and manageable-scale agriculture and livestock farming. Cultivating crops can contribute to the family’s kitchen needs, the excess income can be used in other areas.
  • Successful operating military-owned agriculture and livestock farming must primarily contribute to welfare of Tatmadaw members and families.
  • Leaders of units have to create good environment for subordinates and families and realize the fair administrative system.
  • They need to manage their subordinates through commanderly spirit and fatherly spirit. All officers, other ranks, and their families should stay in unity and solidarity and must have to serve duties assigned by the State and Tatmadaw. Following this, the Senior General asked about requirements of Tatmadaw members and families and attended to their needs.

After that, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, and wife respectively presented foodstuffs for the military personnel and families of Meiktila Station through the station commander, and cash assistance for the station maternal and child welfare association through the wife of the station commander.

Present were Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Vice-Admiral Zwe Win Myint and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, the Central Command commander, and officers, other ranks and their families of Meiktila Station.

After the meeting, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and wife, and party cordially greeted those attendees and viewed round the regiments and units in Meiktila Station in a motorcade.
