Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister U Than Swe Receives Ambassadors of United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka

U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, separately received Mr. Mutaz Abdullah Abduljaleel Mohamed Al Faheem, Ambassador-designate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and Mrs. Ponnamperuma Arachchige Prabashini Ponnamperuma, Ambassador-designate of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw on June 10.

  • During the meeting with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs extended congratulations to the ambassador, and they cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the strengthening of the existing bilateral relations between Myanmar and the UAE, mutually beneficial cooperation, including trade and investment sectors, and enhancement of collaboration in the regional and international arenas.
  • During the meeting with the Sri Lankan Ambassador, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs extended congratulations to the ambassador, and they cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the further advancement of the existing friendly bilateral relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, as well as continued collaboration in rendering consular assistance for Sri Lankan nationals in Myanmar.
  • During the meeting between Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing and Mrs Ponnamperuma Arachige Prabashini Ponnamperuma, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Myanmar, they frankly discussed the facilitation of entry visas for people wishing to visit famous pagodas in both countries and effective collaboration between the two countries in immigration matters.

Deputy Ministers, permanent secretaries and departmental officials attended the respective meetings.
