Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Accepts Credentials of Ambassador-designate of UAE to Myanmar and Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to Myanmar

Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing separately accepted the Credentials of Ambassador-designate H.E. Mr. Mutaz Abdullah Abdulijaleel Mohamed Al Faheem of the United Arab Emirates to Myanmar and the Credentials of Ambassador-designate H.E. Mrs. Ponnamperuma Arachige Prabashini Ponnamperuma of Sri Lanka to Myanmar at the Credentials Hall of the SAC Chairman’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw on 11 June.

  • During the meeting with the UAE Ambassador to Myanmar, they discussed on the matters relating to the diplomatic relations between the two countries, the plans to extend direct flights, the enhancement of cooperation in tourism, trade and other sectors, the endeavours of the State Administration Council in realizing the firm multiparty democratic system the entire people aspire to, the recent developments in Myanmar’s political landscape, the preparations for a free and fair multiparty democratic general election, and the verification of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in northern Rakhine State in accordance with agreements between Myanmar and Bangladesh.
  • During the meeting with the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Myanmar, both sides frankly discussed on the matters pertaining to the bilateral friendship and diplomatic ties, the education of members of the Sangha and nuns from Myanmar in Sri Lanka, the conferring of religious titles to venerable members of the Sangha from Sri Lanka, the cooperation in the development of tourism sector, the cooperation in the enhancement of bilateral trade, agriculture and pharmaceutical production, and the enhancement of cooperation in defence sector between the two countries.

Also present were the Council-Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Director-General of the Protocol Department U Wunna Han.
