Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by entourages, Yangon Command commander and party, inspected Tatmadaw Textile and Garment Factory (Thamaing) in No (12) Ward of Hlaing Township in Yangon Region on 10 June.
During his inspection tour, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services instructed the officials as follows:
- Soil quality assessment should be done first to ensure cotton cultivation and a high production rate. Systematic soil management is also required, depending on the type of soil used. It is also necessary to utilize the agrochemicals and irrigation water properly. Moreover, assessments should be done to ensure the production rate and to meet the expected yield rates based on soil types.
- Tatmadaw should be a role model in the cotton cultivation sector, producing A-grade cotton, and needs to cultivate one specific type instead of planting various kinds of cotton in order to produce high-quality cotton.
- The country imports cotton and fabrics, and the local factories should produce adequate products to reduce the import volumes.
- Basic fabrics and utensils such as T-shirts and vests should be produced locally and sold at cheap prices.
- The thread and textile industries play key roles in the country, and they should produce to meet the country’s needs and sell at cheap prices to the public. Proper planning and consideration should be given to emphasize it.
- Next, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and party viewed round the production processes of textiles and garments within the factory. Later, the Senior General coordinated with the responsible officials to fulfill the needs presented by the factory manager and officials.
The Tatmadaw Textile and Garment Factory (Thamaing) is known for producing high-quality items such as brown textile, Tetron brown fabrics, brown undershirts, brown scarves, robes, multi-coloured Tetron fabrics, multi-coloured undershirts, multi-coloured scarves, various types of T-shirts and sport shirts, nylon mosquito nets, medicinal gauze, and multi-coloured bed sheets.
