For 2024-2025 academic year, a total of 6,672,329 students have enrolled at basic education schools, monastic schools and private schools of various regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw Council Territory starting from 23 May to 4 June. A total of 6,414,799 are attending schools in a peaceful and cheerful manner.
Officials from the Ministry of Education and relevant organizations are conducting some kinds of preparation activities such as setting up desks and chairs at schools, arranging school ferry services, conducting school cleaning activities in order to open basic education schools systematically.
Security personnel, township administration body and public safety organizations are conducting necessary administration tasks to ensure the safety of teachers, students and their parents and to attend students peacefully. Furthermore, students who are late in enrolling for various reasons are also being accepted for enrolment, it is reported.
