According to the tip-off, the combined team comprising Anti-Narcotics Task Force members and security forces conducted a search on a Dongfeng truck near Magyee Yay village Yatsawk-Nawnghkio road in Shan State on 19 May. The truck was driven by Sai Phaung, his companion Min Paing Htoo, and the combined team has seized over K4.75 billion worth of 123.2 kilos of heroin, 5.65 million stimulant tablets, and 52 kilos of concentrated poppy straw.
Similarly, the authorities have arrested Myo Min Htun, Kyaw Thet Oo, Aye Kyaw (aka) Kyaw Naing, and Hein Htet Aung, who were involved in the case, along with a Nissan AD van and a Toyota Probox. Additionally, the authorites have arrested Ko Pyae (aka) Pyae Phyo Thu (aka) Min Myat Naing and Ma Thwel Sam Eain, who were responsible for transporting the drugs from Shan State to Mandalay Region in Mahaaungmyay Township on 22 May. Legal action has been taken against them under the law, and officials are conducting ongoing investigations to identify the chain of drug-related offences, it is reported.
