Kachin State Government has been making concerted efforts for the resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and closure of IDP camps, and arrangements for the persons displaced by instability of the area to take the shelters temporarily. In this regard, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, accompanied by departmental officials, met the IDPs who will relocate to Pa La Na and 10th-Mile Villages of Myitkyina Township on their own. He then supported K3.996 million worth of 54 rice bags provided by the National Natural Disaster Management Committee, K1.917 million worth of 54 edible oil bottles, eggs, and instant noodles by the Kachin State Government, and K11.729304 million worth of rice supplies for one month, K5.4 million in cash for relocation and 16 rescue items by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, for the 337 persons from 54 households.
Later, Chief Minister and party proceeded to the construction site of bamboo houses for 30 households within a church’s land plot in Pa La Na (5) of Thazinmyaing Village in Pa La Na Village-tract, who are now taking shelter at Theological Seminary in Jamaikaung Ward in Myitkyina. And then, the official of the State Government provided more than K7 million in cash and Kachin State Ethnic Affairs Minister K3 million in cash, totalling K10 million, for the construction.
