The Myanmar delegation led by Governor Daw Than Than Swe of the Central Bank of Myanmar attended the plenary meeting of the Asia Pacific Joint Group (APJG) on the progress of Myanmar’s Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism-AML/CFT held in Bali of Indonesia on 15 and 16 May. The Myanmar delegation held a meeting with Asia Pacific Joint Group (APJG) co-chairs, representatives of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and of the Secretariat as well as APJG assessors.
During the plenary session, the Myanmar delegates presented the measures to uncover the high-risk crime-related money laundering, urged illegal hundi providers to receive official licenses and took action against those run without licenses by cooperating with the central bank of host countries, cooperation of Financial Intelligence Unit with international countries in receiving money-laundering related information and increasing the ratings on Myanmar's activities, it is reported.
