Relevant Officials Provide Aids to Temporarily Displaced Persons in Region and State

Under the guidance of the relevant region and state governments, food supplies were provided to Temporarily Displaced Persons in Myaungmya Town of Ayeyawady Region and Myitkyina and Waingmaw Townships of Kachin State with an intent to facilitate their living conditions. On 14 May:

  • 49 rice bags for three months (at a rate of two rice cans per person) were provided to 53 Temporarily Displaced Persons in Myaungmya, Eainme, and Wakhema Townships in Myaungmya District.
  • Kachin State Government and party met Temporarily Displaced Persons in the villages of Myitkyina and Waingmaw Townships, and provided 103 rice bags and K678,255 worth cooking oil and eggs for more than 400 displaced persons of 103 households. Moreover, K5.5 million of cash assistance for reconstruction of houses were provided.

The region and state governments have been making concerted efforts immediately such as repairing damaged residential houses in the villages and having access to electricity and drinking water for those temporarily displaced persons in order to reside their homes safely.
