Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khine Meets Myanmar-China Tourism FAM Trip Members

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr. Thet Thet Khine met the representatives for the Myanmar-China Tourism Promotion Familiarization Trip (FAM Trip) in Nay Pyi Taw on 15 May.

At the event, the Union Minister said that:

• Nay Pyi Taw is the administrative capital of Myanmar. It also offers basic infrastructures to conduct tourism development activities, exhibitions and meetings.
• There are 38 tourist attractions including Maravijaya Buddha image, the World's Highest Sitting Marble Buddha image in the world.
• The representatives to share the actual situation in Myanmar and highlight the place that is actually worth visiting.

Mr David Liu, chairman of the Myanmar-China Culture said the following points:

• The news that they heard in China that could affect Myanmar's image was found to be fake news.
• The current situation of Myanmar during this trip is being broadcast live in Chinese media and will be widely broadcasted.
• As a result of this trip, he believes that more Chinese tourists will visit Myanmar. Further cooperation on Myanmar's tourism promotion issues will be continued.

The FAM Trip included groups from tourism-related departments, tourism agencies and media personnel. They visited Yangon and Ngwehsaung, and they will visit tourist destinations in Nay Pyi Taw, Bagan, and Mandalay, it is reported.
