UEC Makes Statement about Rejection of Submission for Establishment of Chine People’s Party

Those who want to establish a political party are applying to the Union Election Commission by stating the name of the party they wish to develop. Till 14 May, 15 groups have applied for the right to establish a party. Among the groups that applied for this, 12 political parties were allowed to establish, while the submissions for establishment of two parties were rejected.

According to the verification responses of the relevant ministries on the application of the remaining Chin People’s Party for permission to establish, it was found that it did not comply with the provisions of Section 4 of the Political Parties Registration Law. On 14 May, the Union Election Commission announced that the party’s application to establish a party was rejected in Form (C) of the Political Parties Registration Rule, it is reported.
