SAC Member Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo Attends 2024 World Red Cross Day Commemoration Ceremony

The 2024 World Red Cross Day Commemoration Ceremony held at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium (B) in Nay Pyi Taw on 8 May. State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo attended it and stressed the following points;

  • He prides Myanmar Red Cross Society on provision of humanitarian assistance in line with fundamental principles.
  • According to the Geneva Conventions and laws of the International Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement ratified by the country, he called on the Myanmar Red Cross Society to keep carrying out the work plans for humanitarian assistance in line with the fundamental principles and policies of the country. He added that he wish those who participate in the Red Cross movement are in good health as well as peace and continue to work more for public interests.

General Mya Tun Oo and SAC members Dr Hmu Thang, Dr Ba Shwe and U Yan Kyaw awarded prizes to the winners, had a documentary photo taken together with the attendees and viewed around the World Red Cross Day Commemoration Gallery, Red Cross sale counter, Disaster Response Resource Gallery and First Care Resource Gallery.

The Ceremony was attended by SAC Members, Union Ministers, Chairman of Myanmar Veterans Association, Deputy Ministers, Vice Adjutant General, Heads of departments and officials, donators and invited guests, it is reported.
