Union Ministers Receive Resident Representative of International Committee of the Red Cross

Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Lwin Oo received Ms. Elena Ajmone Sessera, Resident Representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) at the respective ministries on 7 May.

• During the meeting with Union Minister for Health, they frankly exchanged views on cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the ICRC in healthcare activities, upgrading prosthetics manufacturing and assembly workshops, knowledge exchange and training to produce professionals and greater cooperation in humanitarian assistance operations carried out by the ICRC in Myanmar.
• During the meeting with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, both sides exchanged views on ICRC’s activities and measures to provide humanitarian assistance more effectively in Myanmar.

Present at the calls together Union Minister were deputy ministers, permanent-secretaries, directors-general, officials and Mr. Christophe Ami Leon Taramarcaz, Deputy Resident Representative of ICRC.
