Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Holds Talks with President of the Senate of Cambodia through Videoconferencing

Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held talks with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, through videoconferencing on 7 May.

During the meeting, both sides cordially discussed the fostering of good relations between Myanmar and Cambodia, the aids of Cambodia to Myanmar at the time of COVID-19 outbreak and severe cyclonic storm Mocha. They then frankly talked about the participation of Myanmar in ASEAN with a constructive attitude, the SAC’s commitment to the Five-Point Roadmap and its ongoing implementation, necessary preparations including the plan to enumerate the population and housing census in order to hold a free and fair multiparty democratic general election, and preparations to successfully hold an election in Myanmar in accord with the Constitution (2008). Later, both sides cordially discussed about the Cambodia’s efforts in taking Myanmar measures in ASEAN and its willingness to share experience of Cambodia’s election.

Present at the virtual meeting along with the SAC Chairman Prime Minister were Council Joint-Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and officials, it is reported.
