Those who want to establish a political party are applying to the Union Election Commission by stating the name of the party they wish to establish. To 13 March, 15 parties have applied for the right to establish a party and among them, 12 political parties have been approved for the establishment.
Among these 12 political parties, the Trusteer of the Peace Party, led by Phone Kyar Phoo (aka) U Nay Win Maung, applied to the Commission for registration as a political party under Rule 7 of the Registration of Political Parties within 30 days from the date of approval on 13 March, has been allowed to register under Section 9 of the Political Parties Registration Law by Union Election Commission on 25 April.
Ten political parties out of 12 have been approved to register, and the rest which applied for registration are also under scrutiny.
