Combined Terrorist Group of KKO (Splinter Group) and So-called PDF Terrorists Attack Security Forces conducting Security Measures near No (2) Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge

On 20, April, with intentions to disrupt peace and stability near the bilateral borderline and to make public panic, combined terrorist group including some from KNU group who support terrorism, KKO (Splinter Group) and so-called PDF terrorists launched heavy weapons and drop bombs attacks with excessive strengths against the security forces near the No. 2 Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge in Myawady Township, Kayin State.

The security forces responded with a counteraction in restraint, supported by airstrikes conducted cautiously to avoid unnecessary armed conflicts, thus ensuring peace and stability in the border area. As a result, the terrorists retreated with heavy casualties around 5 pm, it is reported.
