Bengalis in Bumay Village and its Surrounding Villages of Sittwe Stage Rally for Peace and Stability

On 20 April, some 1,000 Bengalis including women, who live in Bumay village and its surrounding villages of Sittwe in Rakhine, demonstrated for peace and stability. They demonstrated in a peaceful manner, holding the placards and shouting the slogans, “We don’t need NUG and AA insurgents who are disturbing State’s peace and stability,” “We don’t want to face any violent attacks,” “No more battle here,” “Let’s Defend Sittwe,” “Stop shelling of residential neighbourhoods,” reports say.
