Aiming at quick response to terrorism, the first day of the second meeting of Myanmar-Russia Joint Anti-Terrorist Committee was held at Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation in Moscow on 11 April.
- Head of Russian delegation Lt-Gen Matovnikov Alexander Anatolyevich, deputy Chief of Staff (Army) of the Russian Armed Forces and Lt-Gen Kyaw Swa Lin, Head of Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation, held talks on counter-terrorism measures in details and military relations as well as development of cooperation between the two armed forces, with a strategic partnership spirit.
- Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation led by Lt-Gen Kyaw Swa Lin visited National Defence management Centre-NDMC of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
- As a mark of successful completion of the second meeting, the co-chairs of the deputy Chief of Staff (Army) of the Russian Armed Forces and the Head of Myanmar delegation signed the meeting minutes. Then, they held talks on matters related to security and training including military-technical cooperation.
- Myanmar delegation also visited Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and observed the historical records of the Russian Armed Forces.
- The delegation visited military cadet school of the Russian Ministry of Defence. Then the delegation observed motor pool and tactical department which are preparing and training Russian cadets, lecture on UAV technology and first aid nursing, shootings with simulators, cadet rooms and classrooms.
Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation visited Myanmar Theravada Buddha Vihara monastery (Moscow) and made offerings to Sayadaws, the Sayardaws preached a sermon to them, poured water for meritorious deed and made wish for others to acquire benefit. Then the delegation offered Sayadaws with day meal. Afterwards, the delegation met the leaders of trainee officers of Myanmar Armed Forces and delivered a speech to them. The delegation also posed for a documentary photo with them, it is reported.
