Seizures of Narcotic Drugs in March 2024

Members of anti-narcotic task force from Ministry of Home Affairs joining hands together with security personnel are putting an emphasis on anti-narcotic measures, and the seizures of narcotic drugs in March 2024 were as follows:

  • From 1 to 31 March, a total of 651 drug-related offenders including 579 males and 72 females were arrested along with a total of MMK28,693.41 million (over USD 13.663 million) worth of narcotic drugs: 83.06 kg of opium, 59.75 kg of heroin, 12,740,694 stimulant tablets, 0.12 kg of piece of stimulant tablets, 0.34 kg of ICE (Crystal Meth), 52.52 kg of marijuana, 14 marijuana plants, 0.01 kg of low opium, 28.94 kg of opium leaves, 29.65 kg of opium powder, 803 Ecstasy tablets, 13.76 kg of Ketamine, 9.81 kg of Happy Water, 140,120 kg of Ammonium Nitrate, 7,200 liters of Benzyl Cyanide and 720 liters of Dichloromethane were seized.

The arrested drug-related offenders were handed over to the relevant police stations and harsh legal actions are being taken against them under the law. Members of anti-narcotic drugs task force, joining hands with security force members, are making further identification to apprehend drug-related offenders for the sake of elimination of narcotic drugs.
