State Administration Council Member Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received a delegation led by Under-Secretary-General Mr. Gilles Michaud, head of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), at the respective ministries in Nay Pyi Taw on 4 April.
- During the meeting between State Administration Council Member Union Minister for Home Affairs and a delegation led by Under-Secretary-General Mr. Gilles Michaud, head of the UNDSS, they warmly and frankly discussed the matters related to the safety and security of UN staff working in Myanmar, travel rights for UN staff, humanitarian aid for Myanmar and cooperation between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the United Nations Department of Safety and Security.
- During the meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs and a delegation led by Under-Secretary-General Mr. Gilles Michaud, head of the UNDSS, they discussed the matters related to the security of the UN personnel, the travel access required to operate the respective functions of UN agencies in Myanmar, the safety and security of the UN personnel and facilitates its best travel access for the UN agencies and transnational crimes.
The meetings were attended by Permanent Secretaries, senior officials of the relevant ministries, UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator ai for Myanmar Mr. Marcoluigi Corsi, and Security Advisor Mr. Marco Smoliner to the UN Department of Safety and Security, it is reported.
