CBM Deputy Governor Dr. Lin Aung Attends ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting and ASEAN Central Bank Deputies Meeting

The 20th ASEAN Central Bank Deputies Meeting (ACDM) and the ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting (AFCDM) were held virtually on 2 April and Dr. Lin Aung, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar and high-ranking officials, participated in the meetings.

  • The 20th ASEAN Central Bank Deputies Meeting (ACDM) focused on financing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the region in 2024. Subsequently, participants provided their insights to various working committees, including Financial Inclusion, matters concerning the ASEAN Swap Arrangement and ASEAN Cyber security Resilience and Information Sharing Platform. Next, Deputy governors of the Central Banks gave necessary instructions.
  • At ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting-AFCDM, the ASEAN Secretary-General’s Office gave presentations on the monitoring and evaluation work process of ASEAN Economic Cooperation-AEC, status of progress of AEC Blueprint 2025, ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and 2024 ASEAN Financial Integration Monitoring Report-AFIMR.
  • Following this, various working committees provided updates on the progress of the Senior Level Committee on ASEAN Financial Integration and outlined tasks for the financial year 2024-25. ASEAN Central Bank deputies offered their advice and guidance.

The meetings concluded with the confirmation of drafts for the joint statement and programme to be submitted to the 11th ASEAN Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting, it is reported.
