The second phase will be commenced with the humanitarian assistance of life-saving assistance.Arrangements will be made to expand the distribution for those who are in actual need.

The handing over ceremony of Thuwunna National Indoor Stadium (1) after undergoing upgrades was held in the Stadium located in Thingangyun township of Yangon region on 14 December. During the ceremony, the Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan and People’s Republic of China Ambassador to Myanamr H.E Mr. Chein Hai signed and exchanged the documents of memorandum on handing over the Thuwunna National Indoor Stadium (1) after completing upgrades.During the ceremony, the video footage of project works was played and the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar stressed the following points:
The Thuwunna National Indoor Stadium (1) was constructed with the funds of Chinese government in 1983 and the project was to mark the Swe Myo-Pauk-phaw (or) fraternal relations between China and Myanmar.  People Republic of China has highly emphasized on the corporation in sport sector between the two countries. China is also implementing a project to provide technical help to Myanmar to gain good results in the coming 31st SEA Games which will be held in Vietnam in March 2022. Based on the people-oriented principle, China will join hands together with Myanmar to ensure the results of bilateral ties profit Myanmar people. The Union Minister then stressed the following points:
The Stadium with the capacity of 10,825 audience has organized a number of international and local level sport competitions as well as other ceremonies and also produced many national athletes since its inception. The project to upgrade the Indoor Stadium began on 11 August 2019 with the cost of Yuan 220 million by the help of People’s Republic of China and the project successfully completed on 14 December 2021. It would be a milestone of China-Myanmar cooperation as it has been fully upgraded without affecting its original structural design. 
Myanmar also wishes the successful completion of 24th Winter Olympics and 19th Asian Games which will be hosted by People’s Republic of China. 
The upgraded National Indoor Stadium (1) was then opened by Union Minister U Min Thein Zan, Chief Minister of Yangon region U Hla Soe, People’s Republic of China Ambassador to Myanamr H.E Mr. Chein Hai, the People’s Republic of China Economic Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Tan Shu Fu by cutting the ribbon.
