2023-2024 Matriculation Examination in Progress

The first day of the 2023-2024 Matriculation Exam was held on 11 March. This year, the Ministry of Education has set 830 domestic exam centres across the country and 11 overseas exam centres, totalling 841 exam centres:  

  • A total of 146,523 students had registered for matriculation exam;
  • A total of 128,801 students (about 87.90 per cent) sat for a Myanmar subject exam on 11 March, the first day of the exam
  • A total of 128,725 students (about 87.85 per cent) sat for an English subject exam across the country on 12 March, the second day of the exam.

        Union Minister for Education and other officials as well as Chief Ministers of regions/states encouraged students who are sitting the exam and inspected the status of exam in progress.

        Security personnel, health staff, fire-fighters and members of ward administration body have positioned themselves both inside and outside the exam centres to ensure the safety and tranquillity of the examination process in which the students sit the exam and provided foods to students, it is reported.
