Union Ministers Receive Delegation led by WFP Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer

State Administration Council Member Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Kan Zaw received the delegation led by Mr. Carl Johan Orrenius Skau, Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operation Officer of the World Food Programme (WFP) on 12 March at the relevant ministries. In this regard:

  • During the meeting between Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and WPF Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operation Officer, they cordially discussed the matters related to cooperation with the World Food Programme (WFP) in providing humanitarian aid in Myanmar.
  • During the meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs and WPF Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operation Officer, they discussed matters related to current cooperation between the Government of Myanmar and WFP, as well as further collaboration.
  • During the meeting between Union Minister Dr. Kan Zaw and WPF Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operation Officer, they cordially discussed matters relating to the WFP’s ongoing programme and its future work to be carried out in Myanmar.

Also present were Deputy Minister Maj-Gen Toe Yi, Permanent Secretary U Khaing Tun Oo, officials of Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, high-ranking officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs while WPF Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operation Officer was accompanied by Mr. John Aylieff, regional director for Asia-Pacific region, Mr.Stephen Anderson, country director and resident representative of WPF and other representatives, it is reported.
