At approximately 10:10 pm on 9 March, devastating artillery barrages launched by AA insurgents from the western outskirts of Thekon village in Pauktaw Township landed upon Kathae ward in Sittway. Tragically, this assault resulted in the loss of five innocent lives including a 12-year-old child, and left nine others wounded, including three children. The injured victims were swiftly transported to Sittway General Hospital (500 bedded) for urgent medical attention.
The actions of the AA insurgents, who have committed reckless subversive activities including indiscriminate shelling of towns, villages, and wards, are unacceptable. In response to this incident, the local community vehemently denounces and condemns their actions, as reported.
