Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung attended the opening ceremony of the 7th ASEAN-China Agricultural Cooperation Forum which was jointly organized by the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) and the Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on 16 September.
During the ceremony, Union Minister U Min Aung delivered opening speech that China should closely cooperate in promoting the regional food security value chains with the member countries as it is a great trade partner country of the ASEAN countries as well as a key partner of Myanmar.
After the ceremony, Union Minister had a detail discussion with Chinese MARA Minister H.E. Mr. Tang Renjian regarding the strengthening bilateral relations in agricultural sectors, exchange of seedlings and genes, joint-implementation of agricultural science research, and establishment of models of tropical crop fields.
Later, Union Minister:
- On 17 September, they visited Royal Group Milk and Dairy Products Co,. Ltd in Nanning City where the officials explained the research and development progresses, production of milk and dairy products and export procedures. At the research center of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Union Minister observed the process of conducting research works on various crops from 18 sub-research centers and research cooperation in agricultural sector of the areas.
- On 18 September, the Union Minister viewed around the breeding of 10,000 dairy cows, feeding system, and milking processes at the 137-acre dairy farm of Shaighai Pengxin Group near Kunming, met with the responsible officials and invited the foreign investors for cattle breeding in Myanmar. Moreover, the Union Minister pledged to help the measures to get grants and land utilization permits of Myanmar Investment Commission in line with existing rules and regulations.
Union Minister arrived back to Myanmar in the evening, and met with the investors who want to make investments in Myanmar, and discussed investment procedures and the business-related matters for the benefit of both countries during the study tour in Nanning City.
