Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win received a delegation led by Ms. Elena Ajmone Sessera, Resident Representative to Myanmar of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) at the parlour of the ministry on 18 September.
During the meeting, both sides cordially exchanged views on various topics including the offer of humanitarian aid to the victims of the social conflict in Rakhine State since 2017 through ICRC, IFRC (International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies), and MRCS (Myanmar Red Cross Society). They also discussed the ministry’s expenditure of K144 billion for internally displaced persons from February 2021 to date, and cooperation in humanitarian work between the ministry and ICRC.
It was attended by deputy minister, permanent-secretary, directors-general from the departments and officials.
