Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win met the Vice-Chairman of the Jiangsu Province Health Commission in Nanjing of China and the officials from the Centre of Disease Prevention and Control on 17 September.
During the meeting, Mr. Zhou Minghao, Vice-Chairman of the Jiangsu Province Health Commission discussed plans for strengthening collaboration in public health and increased cooperation in health matters between the two nations. Then, Union Minister Dr. Thet Khaing Win discussed as follows:
- Plans are underway to open the Myanmar Centre for Disease Control and Health Staff Training Centre in Nay Pyi Taw which was conducted jointly with the People’s Republic of China as soon as possible.
- The Ministry of Health also committed to providing training to the doctors and health experts from the Ministry at the Jiangsu Province Health Commission in Nanjing of China, and making necessary arrangements for exchange visit of health experts between health experts from Myanmar and China.
Then, Union Minister and delegation toured the Laboratories with Bio-security Level-3, Food and Disease Test, occupational health, and environmental hygiene where the officials conducted round them. The delegation led by Union Minister arrived back Yangon from China on 18 September.
