Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo and Myanmar delegation, currently in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China, visited China-Viet Nam Border Town of Pingxiang and China-ASEAN Fruit Trading Centre on 15 September. During their trips:

  • The delegation closely observed the trade processes of the Friendship Checkpoint in Pingxiang, one of the nine renowned border stations in China, strategically located at the intersection of the Hunan-Guangxi Railway and China’s national highways, connecting to the Vietnamese highway network.
  • On arrival at the China-ASEAN Fruit Trading Centre in Pingxiang, they observed the processes on the importation of fruits from Viet Nam and Thailand to China.
  • They also visited the Shuikou Border Trading Post in Pingxiang, locating 184 kilometres from Viet Nam, connecting with Longzhou Prefecture, and Nahua Private Border Trade Zone.

Pingxiang plays a pivotal role as one of the primary border terminal ports for transporting fruits by land from ASEAN countries, including Viet Nam, into China. It holds immense potential for collaboration with Myanmar’s fruit export sector.
