Seizures of Narcotic Drugs in August 2023

Members of anti-narcotic task force from Ministry of Home Affairs joining hands together with security personnel are putting stress on anti-narcotic measures, and the seizures of narcotic drugs in August 2023 were as follows:

• From 1 to 31 August, a total of 870 drug-related offenders including 752 males and 118 females were arrested along with a total of K155,522.70172 million (over US$ 74.058 million) worth narcotic drugs which are 23.915 kg of opium, 58.28511 kg of heroin, 36,507,600 stimulant tablets, 0.4205 kg of broken stimulant tablets, 3,765.01424 kg of ICE, 56.40254 kg of marijuana, 8 marijuana plants, 19.22 kg of opium oil, 0.072 kg of low quality opium, 6.37 kg of brown opium powder, 14.60105 kg of Kratom, 13.77 kg of Kratom powder, 4.25 liters of poppy liquid, 130 Alprazolam tablets, 2,074 Ecstasy tablets, 111tramadol tablets, 400 Erimim-5 tablets, 306.348 kg of Ketamine, 15.865 kg of Happy Water, 2,000 kg of Caffeine, 28,760 liters of Sulphuric Acid, 24,200 liters of Hydrochloric Acid, 160 kg of Ammonium Nitrate, 2,231 kg of bone char, 5,200 liters of Phosphoric Acid, and 1,311 kg of Sodium Bisulfite were seized. Comparing to the amount of seizures in previous month, more than K 100,511.95672 million (over US$47.862 million) worth of drugs were seized.

The arrested drug-related offenders were handed over to the relevant police stations and punitive actions are being taken against them in accordance with the law. Members of anti-narcotic drugs task force, joining hands with security force members, are making further efforts to identify and arrest drug-related offenders for the eradication of narcotic drugs.
