SAC Member Inspects Urban Development Activities in Loikaw

State Administration Council Member Porel Aung Thein, accompanied by Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin and other officials, inspected the urban development activities and attended the opening ceremony of the 24th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition (state level) in Loikaw Township on 11 and 12 September.

  • The SAC member and party visited the Monglon water plant in Loikaw Township and inspected the construction of a Slow Sand Filter that can filter 2.5 million gallons of water a day.
  • The SAC member also observed the ‘Panhnanthar’ drainage system and concrete road paving sites in Monglon Ward and offered the proper instructions.
  • He attended the meeting with members of ethnic literature and culture groups held at the Kayah State government office as well as the meeting with departmental officials.
  • The SAC member inaugurated the 24th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition by cutting the ribbon.
  • The SAC member met with offered day alms, edible oil and other offerings to the state Ovadacariya Thirimingalarpon (Hawgyi) abbot Sayardaw, and also made cash donations for the new two-storey building project (Kalyarna Htayawartha) of the monastery.
  • The SAC member later addressed the headmaster and teachers at the Agricultural and Livestock High School (Chikal).
  • In the afternoon, the SAC member and state chief minister met the board of trustees of Kae Hto Bo and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Htaythama village, providing financial support to both groups

The State Administration Council Member Porel Aung Thein heard the reports of locals and departmental officials and coordinated with them to fulfil the needs, it is reported.
