Union Ministers Receive Sri Lankan Ambassador

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Than Swe and Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung separately received H.E. Mr. J M Janaka Priyantha Bandara, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, who has completed his tour of duty in Myanmar, on 4 and 5 March.

  • During the meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Than Swe and Sri Lankan Ambassador, they cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the expansion of the mutually beneficial cooperation, including trade and investment, agriculture and education sectors between the two countries, as well as the regional and international issues of mutual interests.
  • During the meeting between Union Minister U Min Naung and Sri Lankan Ambassador, both sides discussed matters related to Myanmar-Sri Lankan friendship-based agriculture and livestock trade, investment and technology cooperation opportunities and offshore fishery industries in waters of both countries in complying with international laws maritime.

The meetings were also attended by Deputy Ministers and relevant officials, it is reported.
