Union Minister at the Union Government Office 2 U Ko Ko Hlaing and Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win met the delegation led by Ambassador of Bangladesh to Myanmar H.E. Dr. Md Monwar Hossain at the relevant ministries in Nay Pyi Taw on 7 and 8 September.
- During the meeting with Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing, both sides exchanged views on boosting bilateral cooperation including friendly relations between Myanmar and Bangladesh, bilateral trade and repatriation of displaced persons from Rakhine State.
- During the meeting with Union Minister Dr. Thet Khaing Win, both parties had a friendly discussion on matters of promoting cooperation in the health sector of the two countries, global health issues such as epidemic prevention and response, universally accessible healthcare services, activities to solve the problem of antibiotic resistance, issues that the two countries can cooperate in, such as drowning prevention activities and so on, the status of preparing healthcare activities for accepting displaced persons, and issues regarding the registration and distribution of Bangladesh-produced drugs and medical products in Myanmar.
The meetings were attended by deputy ministers, directors-general and officials, it is reported.
