Members of the State Administration Council Mahn Nyein Maung and Khun San Lwin accompanied by the Chief Minister of Mon state and officials made a tour of Mon State and Kayin state and met with Kayin and Pa-oh ethnic people, departmental officials at state-level, district-level and township level officials and local ethnic people in Thaton township and Pha-an township on 8 and 9 September.
- During the meeting with Kayin and Pa-oh ethnic people, the SAC members explained the implementation of political, economic and social sectors coordinated the needs of departmental officials and then donated Kyats 2 million to contribute to the construction of Pa-Oh Amyohta Beikman.
- SAC members then met the Patron Monk of Putbaryon Pariyatti Buddhist Teaching School in NanKae ward of Thaton township and donated offertories.
- The SAC members then met U Vimala, Patron Monk of Kayin Win Sein Taungpaw Kyaungyi Monastery and donated offertories. In the afternoon, they visited to Myazedim Teaching Monastery in Mawlamyine and donated offertories to Patron Sayadaw.
- At the ceremony of handing over the fertilizers to the rainfed rice farmers, SAC members reaffirmed the council’s dedication to championing farmers’ interests and protecting their rights. Emphasizing the urgency of addressing food security in different regions and promoting agricultural and fishing sectors, he stated that farmers’ needs would be backed by all stakeholders.
- At the ceremony, 100 bags of urea and organic fertilizer were distributed to rainfed rice farmers from various villages of Tayote Hla, Htaung Wi, Ye Thar, Bar Kat, Myaing Kalay, Kawhtaw Ma Lain, Kaw Laik, Yathae Pyan, Taw Pon. Afterwards, cultural troupes were also honoured with cash rewards.
- The SAC members and other officials, engaged with local ethnic groups and residents at Zwekabin Hall in Hpa-an and explained to them about the efforts and attitudes of the State Administration Council. Then they rewarded the Kayin traditional dance troupes.
- Meanwhile, Khun San Lwin visited Mebaung Monastery and discussed with local Pa-O ethnic communities about peace, peace, socioeconomic development, and food security, with a strong focus on harnessing the human resources of the Pa-O ethnic groups in politics and the economy.
During the meetings, the SAC members coordinated with the responsible officials to fulfil the needs of the local development matters presented by the locals, it is reported.
